Ok, now I have enough of this god damn bullshit with Firefox.
If you are one of those people who has a certain laptop and it isn’t particularly fast, but it was fast enough for browsing, watching videos and using Youtube, but then, all of a sudden, videos in Youtube became unplayable at basically any resolution, making your device pretty much useless for entertainment on the Youtube front.
And we can thank Mozilla for that. Yeah, you fuckers at Mozilla intentionally block hardware hardware acceleration in Firefox on certain graphic cards (GPU) for “safety”. Well, I never had any god damn problem with Firefox or Youtube on my AMD E-450 APU until you fucks started interfering. It always worked perfectly smoothly without a single crash, lockup or anything. But then you fuckers decided to just nonchalantly block my GPU acceleration without any god damn fucking way of disabling fucking retarded GPU blocklist, making laptop pretty much useless for Youtube since it’s all lagging like shit.
But behold, if I play any 1080p video in Windows media players or if I open Microsoft Edge, surf to Youtube and play same videos, they run absolutely perfectly smooth on same god damn motherfucking GPU. No crashes or lockups, just absolutely smooth 1080p video. Even at 60fps! Where in Firefox, it’s fucking lagging and stalling like garbage even on 480p videos. Go fuck yourself Mozilla.
I actually wouldn’t even care if there was at least an easy switch to bypass GPU blocklist thing via about:config. Nooooooooooo, Mozilla had to fucking hardcode this shit into the browser so you can’t do ANYTHING about it. There is some spoofing shit via BAT file, but I just can’t be bothered fiddling with that nonsense…
What the fuck would it cost you Mozilla to allow users to easily disable this GPU blocklist shit eh? If I disable it on my own and there are problems, I’ll fucking know it was because of this, I’m not gonna trash Firefox online for crashing (but I am now for fucking up with my HW acceleration). I’ll know it was that what caused the problems. But you don’t even give me the chance to fucking try it. Maybe it would fucking work fine like it did before. But you just blocked it and never gave any fucks about it afterwards because “reasons”.
It’s stupid, it’s retarded and you all know it. Stop fucking around with my browser and give me back my god damn hardware acceleration. I’ll then decide whether it has problems or not, because I am the one who has the GPU in question in front of me, I very much doubt Mozilla actually tests every god damn GPU out there for this retarded blocklist. They just hear “it has problems” from someone and then they run like little fuckers to block it quickly to protect poor users. Well, I don’t need fucking “protection”, I need hardware acceleration that I had and you took it away from me.
You can have the GPU blocklist enabled by default for all the normies who don’t know any better, but for us advanced users, just give us easy setting in about:config advanced settings to disable this GPU blocklist bullshit and I’ll be happy. And trust me, I wouldn’t be the only one…

The rest is great, far better than anything from Google or Opera (or even Edge), but this god damn hardware acceleration. When I bought this same laptop years ago, it ran 1080p Youtube videos no problem. Today, exact same videos, totally unplayable and all of a sudden, hardware acceleration is somehow problematic on the same GPU. Go fuck yourself Mozilla. I bet they are shilling this shit for laptop makers to artificially make laptops useless for users so they go and buy new ones. This wouldn’t surprise me one bit since you can’t just replace a GPU in such device and Youtube is what most of such devices are used for (multimedia).
And the biggest bullshit is, anything based on Microsoft Edge, be it browser itself or Windows Apps from Windows Store, they all use same god damn motherfucking drivers and it works fine. But Mozilla just blacklists the driver and then you can go fuck yourself because there is no way to disable this shit in Firefox. If there really was a problem, don’t they think Edge would also be experiencing those “problems”? But no, it works fucking fine.

Have tried to untick “Use Hardware Acceleration when available” in Options -> Advanced (General) Also if that didn’t work, switch to Adobe flash player plugin, simply get the latest update of it, install an extension [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-flash-video-player], once done switch YT to use Adobe flash player plugin and check the performance, I’ve tried that before to decrease CPU load, since HTML5 uses a lot of CPU resources on my old PC, and it works very good…

I made the error of “upgrading” to Firefox 47.0.2 a few months ago, and now I cannot play a whole bunch of videos – I notice the goddamn adverts always seem to be able to play, if I unblock the AdBlockPlus thing, but today, I’ve confirmed even Twitter videos will not play on Firefox. Maybe its is the GPU blocklist bullshit???
Doing an inspection of the codeframes shows the usual “this is deprecated” bullshit – but this is Twitter, not some kid’s website running in his mom’s basement… I’m looking at Rogozin’s Twitter feed to see the Russian FEDOR robot AI, fire a couple of Glock’s with both its hands. Interesting experiment in real-time AI, right? Except I am getting these bullshit messages “The Media could not be played” – on both my Window’s boxes AND my Linux box, running Firefox ESR, thirtyone (CentOS standard)! WTF? What is happening to fuck up video everywhere now? I update Adobe Flash almost weekly, and still I get this bullshit (yup, turned off the AdBlocker also, still NFG).
To actually see the Rogozin video (he is Deputy President of the Russian Federation, apparently), I needed to use my Samsung Tab-A, Android 6.01, running Firefox (no I don’t use “apps”). I have the Flash video stuff installed on Android, and I could see the video (google: “FEDOR Rogozin robot” to see the news references, if curious. Target discrimination, and weapons sys deployment is *the* primary AI app. See it, know it, kill it.)
What is silly, is that the Twitter feed of the Rogozin video cannot be played on *any* of my desktop platforms. This is 2017 now. Isn’t it about time, we dumped all this *free* garbage software it the dumpster, and actually have SOME FUCKING RELIABLE VIDEO SOFTWARE???? I had an IBM Thinkpad (still have it somewhere, actually…), in the LAST CENTURY!!!! – and the thing had a video of the Space Shuttle landing on it, as an MP4 if I remember correctly. That little machine with its little Pentium processor, could render this full motion – complete with *sound* – PERFECTLY. It was probably 480 dpi, not super hi res or anything – BUT IT FUCKING WORKED!!! – unlike the dogshit garbage shitstorm of crap that is dumped on folks nowadays via the shit useless crap everyone has to use – which DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE!
The whole fucking technology industry is moving fucking *RETROGRADE* – with hyper-crapification of anything that used to work. I look at the code, and it IS ALL FULL OF GODDAMN FUCKING TRACKING BULLSHIT – it is TOXIC, people. How fucking hard can it be to PROPERLY SANDBOX VIDEO and have it fucking work??? Everyone needs to wake up to what is actually happening, and then DEMAND BETTER. Here’s the thing. I have a *hacked* iPad first gen – basically an iPad 1.0, and it is a FINE MACHINE. It is LOTS FAST ENOUGH – even for very high-res video and sound. I hacked the thing just to see if it was possible to make it do real work. YOu wouldn’t believe the puke Apple puts into the software to fuck it up, so it is deliberately crippled, broken and FUCKED. But UNFUCKed, and it is a really fine platform. You have to use that “m.youtube.com” bullshit trick to see Youtube videos, but with a bit of tweaking, you can just download the video, stick the .mp4 in your /var/media directory, and watch in whenever you want.
The entire tech industry is a sack of dung now, since that DMCA bullshit came in – the pricks are fucking up all the tech so that a bunch of rich ciocksookers in HollyfuckingWood can get fat and rich off of all the dumbshit richkids watching shit and buying crap. That first-gen iPad is an absolutely magically brilliant piece of tech – circa 2010, and with the copy protection removed, and that idiotic Kill-9 program that wrecks any homebuilt code removed, it can function as a fine general-purpose computer – at least as good as a fucking Raspberry Pi, for fuck sakes. But why do we let everything get fucked-up, broken and shit-upon (oh, like FIREFOX FOR EXAMPLE). Firefox (hell, Mozilla, lets call it what it actually was). Mozilla was a fucking BRILLIANT PIECE OF EXECELLENT SOFTWARE, and it was marvelously disruptive. It let whole new industries get born. AND IT FUCKING RAN VIDEO, DIDN’T IT?

The problem is the Apple guys and Facebook maruaders and all the other shit-flingers, who profit by building monopoly hardware, and shit-stupid bloatware bullshit like facebook, great for real-time murders, but still bound up by the toxic ugliness of the DCMA so that useful, helpful information and real knowledge cannot be easily distributed by ordinary educated people. I’ve been using and abusing tech since 1997 or so… 20 years experience and I *remember when they HAD excuses for things not working properly, like hardware literally wasn’t fast enough yet.* There is a bare-minimum that even efficient code cannot push hardware any faster than – and x y and z tasks need x y and z minimum hardware to perform AT ALL. NOW, asshole coders don’t know shit about hardware and are so abstracted from it, they care even less.
No wonder they create bloat. Even when they DON’T, there’s the planned-obsolescence-agenda. Why can’t companies make money from non-abusive business models? At least a little bit?! I’m sick of trying to fix things that some idiot broke, just to get a security update that came with a new hardware-breaking bug. Security is terrible because people don’t want to ‘fix’ what isn’t broken. Because asshole companies like Google and their Android-never-gets-any-patches asshole mobile device manufacturers, can’t make a system that just fucking works! Devices can be patched! The code can be as simple as a 3-line fix or less, sometimes, for a major security fix!
But they are too cheap to pay for the labour to distribute these fixes down the food-chain from Android developers at Google down to the cheapest mobile devices. Instead, they bring-out 5 half-broken devices in the time-span that ONE GOOD DEVICE might make them more money in… IF IT WERE PROPERLY-SUPPORTED AND MORE EXPENSIVE TO PAY FOR IT. Buy once, pay once, not buy three-five times, pay three-five times. Which would you choose, if given the HONEST CHOICE?
I know I could use the time saved in all the bullshit troubleshooting and digging-up the LIES of the tech companies (always helps make you money, lying to your customers, note – just gotta make sure they don’t find-out).

While I certainly agree that Firefox has been turned into a browser fit for nothing but the coding trash heap of history, I find it aggravating that I have to wade through no less than 63 instances of the usage of the West’s favorite four-letter expletive, on this blog page.
Whether you want to face it or not, this is yet another symptom of a dying society. I know nothing is likely to change, but perhaps, by reading this comment, *someone* out there might actually realize the folly in behaving as such, and so I decided it was worth mentioning. Yes, it’s probably an exercise in futility, especially considering it pales in comparison to the fact that this society of invertebrates is also too cowardly to so much as even *mention* those who so deftly turned it into the cesspool it presently is.
If you view this commentary as petty, fine — that is your prerogative. But we have become a conglomeration of crude, compromising, abrasive bottom-feeders… just like those whom rule over us. And these traits are manifested seemingly everywhere in our written discourse these days; and it gets very, very old to those of us whom aspire to improve things by shedding those ugly traits.

After a hellish adolescence, I got into one of the top 3-5 universities in my country, to study my chosen subject. When I got there, I just wanted to party, given the hell I’d been through, and had no time for the SEVERELY-pretentious attitudes of those I constantly met in Academia. I used to hang out with (if with anyone at all…) the working-class, the special-needs and the weird kids at school. Why? Due to the fact that they were tolerant, not posing anywhere NEAR as much, were honest (relatively-) and not quite so addicted to power-over-others, since they naturally had less and got used to it. I generalise, but to this DAY I cannot abide the egotism of Academia. After all, what motivates one to achieve in a somewhat-abstract environment, other than the egotistical narcissism driven by social power in the eyes of one’s Academic peers? Sure, some good may come of the scientific side of such endeavours, and I respect any and all logically-sound operators in Academia… but the ‘stench’ of bullshit, the twice-as-backwards-as-lesser-intellects-for-their-ignorance-of-how-their-intellectual-POWER-has-corrupted-them idiocy, well, it disgusts me.
Call me irrational for that, but I’ll be damned if all their posturing has saved the world from the abusive powers-that-be who’re in charge now. Whoops, too much egotism, not enough unity, there you go, let me correct that logical error for you.

I was on Firefox since version 1.0 Beta. Dumped it half a year ago for Opera. I miss few things but Opera just works so much better now and is loaded with features, really useful features.
