Microsoft updated their OneDrive service

Great news, after several years of OneDrive existence, Microsoft has finally dramatically updated its interface and framework.

As you may have already noticed it, I’m using OneDrive to host larger files on my blog and the main problem or annoyance that I had with it was that you couldn’t link files directly. You had the link to files directly, but when you clicked it, the whole folder opened up and the desired file was just highlighted. It was a really dumb design and thankfully, Microsoft finally got rid of it.

Files are now linked directly so you can’t get confused anymore, description of the file is clearly visible below and the whole experience of users actually getting those files just increased 100x for the better. I love it.

They have also updated the OneDrive interface toolbar with more directly accessible controls and tools and few other cosmetic changes.

All in all, really good and reliable file hosting service just became even more reliable, easy to use and convenient to the end users, be it us who hos the files or users who download them from OneDrive. Good work Microsoft!
